MotorCheck maintains it's own Irish stolen vehicle database as the Gardai currently do not provide details of any stolen vehicles to any history check providers.
MotorCheck also interfaces with the UK Police National Computer that currently holds details for more than 1 million stolen vehicles. On average, 225 new thefts are added to the database on a daily basis making it an extremely important check for a motor trader to carry out before buying a vehicle.
Insurance Stolen Checks
The UK Motor Insurer Anti-Fraud and Theft Register (MIAFTR) also records incidents of theft for its members. A flag for 'Stolen' on this database will also appear in the MotorCheck Stolen Check
